I work at a university and every year we get a whole week off between Christmas and New Years. It's so wonderful and I'm thankful for it. Believe me. I've done my share of working nights, weekends, and holidays with little or no paid time off and often times no insurance either. Sometimes we travel to visit family but this year we stayed home. I was a little sad about that but I really needed some relaxation so staying home was fitting.
Highlights of my time off this year? Sleeping in, shopping, cooking, visiting, and going to watch the ball drop downtown last night. Got air horns and glow necklaces for the kids and we walked down to watch the madness. I would do it again. Typically we stay home and watch Dick Clark so it was nice to do something different.
